Appointments are available weekdays, both daytime and evening. Each counselling session lasts for 50 minutes and usually takes place once a week and can be for a few sessions or much longer. It's good to allow a minimum of six sessions for the effects of therapy to begin to be felt.
Counselling Students: A limited number of concessions are available on request.
What happens next?
Once you have made contact with me we can discuss your availability and establish what you are looking for. We will then book an initial consultation to explore what brings you to counselling and to give you an experience of what therapy with me would be like. If therapy feels right for you at this time, and my therapeutic approach feels like something you could work with, we will then discuss and agree a framework and book a number of sessions.
After six sessions we will review the therapy together. This is to make sure you are getting the most out of the sessions and agree a way forward, whether this is to continue with the therapy or, if you are ready to end, to begin working toward an ending. It's good to think in terms of allowing at least 2 sessions to bring our work together to an end. When the therapy continues longer-term we will review every three months, so that you can reflect on what's working or not working, and re-focus on or re-define goals.
